What you sign up for, what it costs and how refunds work
Written to be read, not to protect ourselves. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will rewrite it.
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who provides the service
Biomag S.L.U., with registered office in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava), Spain, provides the AIM LEX service through this website. Full company details are in the legal notice.
2. What AIM LEX is
A legal research tool that answers by citing the applicable law and checks every citation against its official source before showing it. Depending on the plan, it includes citation checking, deadline calculation, case and client management, and analysis of documents you provide.
AIM LEX is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. It is a tool for professionals and individuals, and whoever uses it decides how. Responsibility for any legal action remains with whoever signs it.
3. Plans and prices
Current prices are published on the pricing page: the Personal plan includes VAT; professional plans are shown excluding VAT. Each plan includes a number of research queries per month and unlimited citation checking. On the Firm and Practice plans the number of users is unlimited: what is shared is the firm's research-query allowance.
Annual payment equals ten monthly payments. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled.
Who charges you. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Limited, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes the payment, issues the invoice and applies the taxes. The service, its support and these terms are Biomag S.L.U.'s.
4. Cancellation
No minimum term. You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid; until then you keep access. There is no penalty and no data lock-in: you can export all your information before you leave.
5. Right of withdrawal
If you contract as a consumer (a natural person acting outside a professional activity), you have fourteen calendar days from the contract to withdraw without giving any reason and without penalty, under Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007. Do it at Withdraw from the contract: two steps, you receive an acknowledgement with the date and time, and we refund everything you paid, even if you have already started using the service, to the same payment method.
6. Refund policy, and the citation guarantee
In addition to the statutory right of withdrawal, we apply our own guarantee:
If a citation marked green turns out not to exist, not to be in force, or if the legal data we give based on it —a deadline, an amount, a percentage— is not what its official source says, we refund that month's fee.
How it is proven: every check generates a public seal with the fingerprint of the text, the date and the verdict for each citation. Just send us the link to the seal. There is nothing to argue about: the seal says what we stated and when.
The guarantee covers verification errors, not disagreement with a legal judgment. A correctly verified citation that does not apply to your specific case is not a verification error: it is a matter of judgment, and the judgment is yours.
If the service stops working for a prolonged period for reasons attributable to us, we refund the proportional part without you having to ask.
7. Acceptable use
You may not resell access, automate use to extract content in bulk, or use the service for unlawful purposes. Plans with unlimited users are for your organisation: sharing credentials outside it is prohibited.
8. Data
The processing of personal data is governed by the privacy policy. If you are a law firm or an advisory firm, we also sign the data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR.
9. Changes
If we change these terms or the prices, we will notify you by email in advance. A price change never applies to a period already paid, and you can always cancel before it takes effect.
10. Governing law
Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts of your place of residence, to consumer alternative dispute resolution bodies and to the European Consumer Centres Network.
